Exploring Asahan: A Dusk Journey to the Cultural Crossroads of Three States

Asahan Gunung Ledang Tangkak Johor, Melaka & Negeri Sembilan

Departing from Tangkak

Some journeys are not about going far — they’re about getting closer to a long-lost peace within.

That evening, I left Tangkak and headed to Asahan, a small town nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Ledang. My destination was a glamping site run by a friend. I planned to spend the night there — away from the city’s noise, embracing the pure calm of nature.

Asahan is home to a unique landmark — Laman Tiga Budaya, or “Three Cultures Square.” But it doesn’t represent three ethnicities. Instead, it symbolizes the meeting point of three Malaysian states: Melaka, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan. Standing here, it feels like standing at the intersection of three distinct regional cultures, each adding its own charm to the atmosphere. This fusion gives Asahan a special kind of identity.

As the sky darkened, I drove along winding roads. The destination wasn’t far, yet it somehow felt like a long way. Maybe it was just the anticipation — the eagerness to reach and experience a night tucked away in the hills.

🌌 This time, I brought a camera — and a curious heart.

👉 In the second video, I’ll show you what Asahan looks like at night — my first experience soaking in the peaceful charm of a quiet town. Stay tuned!
