Exploring Lenggong Valley Perak 3 Days 2 Night: A Journey of Discovery and Inspiration

20/10/2024, my personal assistant, digital marketing manager, and I embarked on a scenic drive from Skudai, Johor, to the picturesque Lenggong Valley in Perak. This journey was a mix of leisure and a market survey for potential tourism projects. Setting out at 4 a.m., we made our way along the North-South Highway, enjoying rest stops for hot drinks and breaks along the way. Surrounded by lush greenery, palm trees, and clear blue skies, the drive was refreshing, and after eight hours, we finally reached Lenggong.

A Taste of Lenggong

Lenggong is a quaint town with a mix of old and new shops lining its streets. Known for its Guangxi heritage, we took the opportunity to sample the local cuisine at a seafood restaurant. Their specialties included fish balls, steamed fish belly, a local freshwater catch, and Guangxi dishes like tofu puffs and wild vegetables. It was an unforgettable culinary experience and a true taste of Lenggong.

Coffee and Connections

In the afternoon, we met with local tourism industry friends at Suak Saudagar Espresso on Jalan Kampung Kelantan. Among our new acquaintances were a local geoguide, the café owner, and a travel agency representative from Penang. Over coffee in the natural surroundings, we discussed Lenggong Valley’s potential tourism market and the role PusatPelancongan.com could play in it.

Arrival at Kuak Hill Resort

By evening, we arrived at Kuak Hill Resort, where we parked our car at the foot of the hill and took a thrilling 4WD ride up narrow winding roads to reach the resort. Nestled atop the hill, the resort offers breathtaking views of Lake Tasik Tamban and the Titiwangsa mountain range. The nighttime scenery was especially enchanting.

Dinner and Discussions

We joined the resort’s marketing manager for dinner, where we exchanged ideas and discussed the prospects for tourism development. With the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026, everyone expressed optimism about the market’s future.

Sunrise and Misty Views

The next morning, I woke early to witness the sunrise over the famous Titiwangsa mountain range. The lake below was blanketed in mist, creating a serene and unforgettable moment that I captured in numerous photos and videos.

Our breakfast consisted of local favorites—a traditional nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaves, a slice of toasted bread, and a strong cup of black coffee. Simple, delicious, and memorable!

Exploring the Archaeological Gallery

After breakfast, we met our geoguide, Shima, at the Galeri Arkeologi. After registering, we entered the gallery, which featured fascinating archaeological artifacts. This exhibit is free, but visitors must request a permit in advance, arranged through an authorized geoguide.

We began with an informative video from an archaeology expert, followed by a detailed walkthrough led by Shima, who shared insights about each artifact. Inside, visitors are allowed to take photos and videos but must keep their voices down. A replica of the Perak Man was displayed, while the original remains are expected to return next year.

Bukit Bunuh – Meteorite Impact Site

Our journey continued to Bukit Bunuh, where we observed impact rocks—visible evidence of a meteorite collision that occurred 1.83 million years ago. These unique formations were shaped by the intense heat and impact force of the meteorite strike.

Heritage of Kampung Chepor

Aki’s Galeri

Our next stop was Aki’s Galeri in Kampung Chepor, where Aki shared his personal collection of historical items, including old household and farming tools, vintage communication devices, and more. Each piece in his gallery reflects the rich history of daily life in the region.

Telaga Biru

We also visited Telaga Biru, a century-old well known for its unique blue hue. The water is famously clear year-round and is believed by locals to have health benefits. According to geologists, the well’s color may be linked to a fissure created during the eruption of the Toba Volcano.

Volcanic Relics and Ancient Caves

We then explored the Debu Toba site at Bukit Sapi Geopark, whose walls are layered with volcanic ash from the ancient eruption of the Toba Volcano.

Masjid Raja

Next, we visited Masjid Raja, a historical mosque believed to have been built 483 years ago on volcanic soil.

Gua Kajang, Gua Asar, and Gua Puter

Our journey also took us to Gua Kajang, Gua Asar, and Gua Puteri, ancient caves rich with archeological significance. Each cave offers stunning natural beauty and historical depth, presenting a rare glimpse into the lives of early humans in the region.

Conclusion

After a fulfilling three-day itinerary, we returned home with valuable insights. This trip gave us a fresh perspective on Lenggong Valley’s tourism potential. Through PusatPelancongan.com, we plan to highlight these unique attractions, supporting local economic growth and contributing to Visit Malaysia 2026.
